Geekin’ Gazette – Weekly Top 5 Walt Disney World News, Tips and Community Happenings

  1. The best news of the week was the arrival of Evan Castro on 10/12/2016.  Congratulations to Super Geeks Claudia and David Castro & family.  Now we can enjoy three of the cutest kids while they’re at Disney World.
  2. This week we learned that the Sweet & Spicy Chicken Sandwich is back at the snack station Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom!  This is located just over the bridge on your way to Liberty Square.  I love the sauce and flavor of this unique treat.  Momma tells me it’s a snack credit on the meal plan.  This is great news for my counter service plan this January.  I can eat breakfast with one credit and have this sandwich for lunch as snack!  Super Geeker Holly Bercase did a great job on some recon at Magic Kingdom and reviewed the sandwich which we posted in our Facebook group.
  3. Geek Meetups – Bringing like minded people together is my favorite part of our podcast.  I was excited to see that Clay Greene and Tony McDaniel met up in their home state.  They actually live close to each other and met via the podcast. Super Geeks Jennifer Galambos and Nick Maglio were in EPCOT together and ran right into each other.
  4. Three great new Muppet shows have been added to WDW.  First is the Muppet Mobile Lab.  Check out the video if you want a spoiler.  I’ll share with you but I won’t watch it until I see it live in January.  🙂  In Liberty Square, you’ll find two new shows “The Declaration of Independence” and “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere”. Super Geeker Holly Bercase also gave us her review of the show on Facebook Live.
  5. Wine Bar George coming to Disney Springs.  Wine Bar George will offer more than 100 selections both by the bottle and the glass in a range of varietals, vintages and prices. Guests will be able to experience sips from acclaimed wineries as well as up-and-coming growing regions and wineries. Wine education will be served up in an approachable and fun manner, says Miliotes, and he is planning special events and visits from renowned winemakers.  I like that there will be “education…in an approachable and fun manner”!
