Comment on staying off property vs Disney Resorts
Let’s look at the Disney World resorts
Downtown resorts
Value
Moderate
Dolphin/Swan
Deluxe
DVC
Overall comment of Value vs. Moderate vs. Deluxe vs. DVC
Momma says:
Downtown resorts – a little elegant, luxurious
Pop Century – Wouldn’t mind staying one night before DVC. Beds were horrible, double, not queen.
Liked food court, atmosphere, room size was ok, buses fine
Caribbean beach – Really liked food court, next door to Epcot, could see ball and fireworks, huge gift shop
Buses were bad because of all the stops
Port Orleans – Pathways were tough and she got lost, same looking buildings, third floor with no elevator
Liked: Big water wheel, downtown disney boat, good food court, comfortable trendle bed for family of five
Swan: Twisty, windy hallways. Lost in hall ways. Had to go to front desk to find room
Loved The Fountain ice cream place at dolphin ; Loved seeing Tower of Terror from room; Loved smell aloe vera
Polynesian and Contemporary – Poly favorite, love both; totally IMMERSIVE, lobby, Tambu Lounge, Dole Whips, tiki torches lighting your way, hawaiian music, hawiian tiki theme, boat to MK
Bay Lake Tower and Contemporary – Slight edge to Poly,
One or Two Bedroom, Studio “OK”, love modern design, views, never a bad view, sky bridge, loves walking over to Contemporary and hanging out at Outer Rim, smell, laundry, walk to MK, love watching monorail, love shops(exchanged suitcase) good shop selections, Contempo cafe
Bad bartender, buses should be dedicated, jam more people at Poly
