Big Family Trip & Couples Getaway — Kayleen’s Disney World Summer Trips – Ep. 643

Welcome Disney Geeks!
This week on the Geekin’ on Walt Disney World Podcast, we welcome back long-time Super Geek Kayleen Stunz, who brings us two magical Disney World trip reports from Summer 2025.

Kayleen shares a joyful, energetic, and unforgettable big family vacation — with eight adults and five little ones — plus a totally different style of Disney magic during a September couples getaway with her husband, Scott. From multigenerational memories to peaceful lounge time and hilarious mishaps, this episode is packed with heart, humor, and real-world Disney wisdom.

✨ Trip Report #1 — Big Family Adventure at the Grand Floridian Villas

Kayleen’s June trip brings the entire family together:
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 8 adults + 5 kids (ages 10 to 3 months!)
🏨 Two two-bedroom villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian
🎢 Rope drops, Genie+ strategies, character meals, and big smiles

🌼 Highlights from the June Family Trip

  • Managing a large group with smart planning, flexibility, and lots of patience
  • Adorable favorite-ride T-shirts and PhotoPass family pictures
  • A fantastic dinner at Via Napoli (with kids mesmerized by the pizza-tossing chefs!)
  • A beautifully handled medical emergency, where Disney’s Cast Members and emergency team truly shined
  • A memorable lunch at Coral Reef with their ocean-inspired charcuterie board
  • Lots of little-kid reactions — who rode Tower of Terror at age 4, who avoided dark rides, and who loved everything
  • A rained-out Fantasmic and one of the funniest “drowned rat” stories you’ll hear

✨ Trip Report #2 — A Relaxing Couples Getaway

Kayleen and Scott returned in September for a much more relaxed, gourmet, and lounge-focused Disney trip.
Three nights at Saratoga Springs + one night at Coronado Springs (including the funniest story of the episode!).

🌙 Highlights from the September Couples Trip

  • A comedy-classic moment: a hot sauce bottle explosion at Coronado’s El Mercado 😆
  • Golf at Lake Buena Vista with complimentary resort shuttle service
  • Delicious meals at Cítricos, Yak & Yeti, and the Brown Derby Lounge
  • A full tour of the new Polynesian Tower that sparked the desire for more DVC points
  • A delightful Food & Wine day featuring ceviche, seafood rolls, and a return-worthy shrimp skewer
  • A nearly empty Fantasmic show — a total contrast to June
  • Sipping grown-up lemonades before riding Slinky Dog at night

Curtis Stone

I’m a husband, dad, grandfather, Disney Geek, podcaster, traveler, classic-rock fanatic and technology guy from Connecticut.

For more than a decade, I’ve hosted the *Geekin’ on Walt Disney World Podcast*. What started as a fun way to talk about Disney became something much more meaningful — an amazing community where listeners became friends and Disney became the thing that brought us together.

When I’m not podcasting, you’ll usually find me traveling with my wife Margita, listening to classic rock on vinyl, hiking with our yellow Lab Sawyer, playing around with new technology or dreaming about the next adventure.

As I head toward the next chapter of my life, I’m trying to keep things pretty simple: **travel more, stay curious, keep creating, spend time with the people I love and enjoy the good stuff while it’s happening.**

There’s still a lot I want to see, learn and experience — and I’m looking forward to sharing some of it along the way.
